ITINERARY

Day 1: CUSCO- CLOUD FOREST - PILCOPATA

We leave Cusco very early in the morning on our comfortable bus. We ascend to the upper area of ​​Paucartambo. On the way we visit the funerary towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca. Then we descend through the mysterious cloud forest, full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. We stop to give you the opportunity to witness the cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruviana) in the mating ritual. There are also possibilities to observe trogons (Trogon sp.) and much more. If we are lucky we will find the only bear in South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon we will arrive at the town of Pilcopata where we will spend the night in Puerto de Atalaya where we will board a boat for 30 minutes to the Paititi Lodge where we will spend the night in our typical lodge with bathrooms and showers.

Day 2: PAITITI LODGE -MACHUHUASI – PAITITI LODGE

After a delicious and nutritious breakfast, we will continue with our itinerary traveling by boat, then we will visit the Machuhuasi cocha, where we will ride on a typical catamaran of the area to observe a great variety of birds, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans and insects, groups of turtles and perhaps some ronsocos (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris) after this unforgettable ride we will return to our lodge, dinner and overnight. Night in lodge with Bathrooms and showers available.

Day 3: PAITITI LODGE-PARROTS CLAY LICK-CLOUD FOREST-CUSCO

Very early we go by boat to the parrot clay lick and then we will have breakfast and continue with our trip by bus passing through Pilcopata, again passing through the mysterious cloud forest with destination to the Imperial city of Cusco. We will visit the cloud forest again. Arrival approximately 6.30pm – 7pm.
